Lifting tables are often submitted to concentrated loads that, if applied in open position, may cause slight flexions of the frame. If it is true that, these small flexions are usually acceptable; it happens sometimes that it is required an absolute level of stability; this condition occurs, for instance, when a relevant load (in dimensions and weight) shifts from the mobile frame to a fixed surface.
There are several applicable solutions in this situation: when possible, we employ special hydraulic pins, which come out from the frame and keep the lifting table in up position. However, when this technical solution is not achievable, (e.g: there is no way to anchor to the surroundings) it is necessary to act differently. The alternative is a system of “hydraulic shoulder”. Basically, when the table in open position, four “crutches” – one per each corner – positioned on the lower frame, raise and the upper frame goes then down for laying on these “supports”. In this way, the lifting table assumes such a rigidity that it allows all sort of movements to the loads positioned on the upper frame.
These hydraulic “shoulders” are available, like other accessories, from more than 20 years: in 2004, we completely revised them, applying new technical solutions, starting from the material employed for producing them up to reducing the lateral dimensions, as well as improving the supporting surfaces between the shoulders and the table. All this, in order to guarantee a structure for all types of load.
Hereinafter, you can watch a video concerning a lifting table with hydraulic shoulders; 5 tons capacity, during the testing phase. The raising and lowering movements are fluid; it goes well with the solidity of the structure.
